The Metrocode Story: Our Mission and Our Promise

Knowledge is certainly power, and Tom Killebrew's story tells the tale. From behind the Examiner's Desk at the Development Department of the City of Fort Worth fifteen years ago, Killebrew conceived a groundbreaking idea. He had learned first-hand what builders needed most when they approached the city for a permit, and he figured out a way to give it to them.

Killebrew knew that meeting city requirements could hold up the construction process. But with a third party involved, he could streamline procedures from start to finish. He launched Metro Code in 1992 to do just that-offer builders, architects and designers expert education on satisfying city requirements, provide timely inspections that keep projects rolling and act as a liaison between clients and city officials. The company's plan review services guarantee that construction projects abide by all building codes and requirements in the areas of accessibility, building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, energy and environmental protection.

For more than a decade, Metro Code has been providing exacting service at a cost-effective price, wiping out the aggravation and delays that usually come with permitting. As the premiere construction consultant in the DFW Metroplex, Metro Code is an exemplary partner, helping clients succeed with all of their community development goals.

"We are committed to providing extraordinary services that enable our clients to construct their vision and ensure health and safety in our community," says Killebrew. Clients are kept in the loop, where they participate in making decisions that will impact their final product. They are partners in a long-term relationship.

And, they know they will always be informed of up-to-the-minute changes in city procedures. Requirements evolve and Metro Code with its network of contacts, is the first to know and the first to act, keeping clients prepared and problems solved at all times.

This extraordinary service anchors the company as an industry leader and is based on a philosophy of quality, cost and speed. A team of licensed experts does not simply identify problems, but offers workable solutions. Through personal frequent communication, including monthly informational and educational meetings and both daily and weekly status reports, Metro Code consultants can customize service for individual clients. They also go the extra distance, guiding builders in the field, providing emergency inspection services at no additional cost on nights, weekends and holidays, affording top priority to model homes and trailers, and picking up and delivering plans in the same day. All told, customers' needs are heard and met with excellence and speed.

Knowledge and power: without it, Metro Code would not be the market leader it is today, enjoying the trust and respect of both municipalities and client partners.
